Corner Society support

Corner Society is a route planner and navigation app for drives worth remembering: it plans winding, scenic routes, guides you turn by turn on your iPhone, lets you save routes, collect favourite roads and spots, and drive together with friends in a convoy. The same account works in the app and on the website.

Frequently asked questions

How do I create an account?

On the website: open the registration page, enter a public username, your e-mail address and a password of at least 15 characters. Then sign in with the same e-mail address and password in the app. The app can create an account too: tap Create account on its sign-in screen and enter the same three details.

I forgot my password.

There is no password reset in the app. Write to support from the e-mail address of your account (see above) and we will help you get back in.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings › Account › Delete account. On the website: Settings › Delete account. You confirm with your password. Your account and everything you created are deleted at once and cannot be restored. Details are in the privacy policy.

Which countries do the maps cover?

Currently Germany. Routes can be planned and followed there; more regions may be added later.

Why does the app need my location?

The app asks for location access “While Using” and for Precise Location. Turn-by-turn guidance needs your precise position to tell which road you are on and to announce turns at the right moment. Guidance happens on your phone; your position goes to the Corner Society server to plan a route from where you are, to show the driving weather and what is near you on Home, Discover and in search, to show you to the members of a convoy, but only while you have sharing switched on, and, for every drive you navigate, as the track of that drive after it has ended, to count its kilometres and corners, award badges and, only if you take part, rank you on the leaderboards (the server keeps these totals and the German states you drove in, not the track). The privacy policy, sections 3.3, 3.16 and 3.17, says more. You can change the permission at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Location Services › Corner Society. Without it you can still plan routes between places you search for, but the app cannot guide you.

Can I use Corner Society without a connection?

Saved routes can be made available offline: the app then stores the route and the map around it on your phone and you can follow it without a connection. Planning a new route, searching for places, convoys and the community features need a connection.
